Applications open for next FCSO Citizen's academy

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office’s (FCSO) next Citizens’ Academy will begin on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Classes will be held every Tuesday, 6:30 PM- 8:30 PM, for 7 weeks (ending on March 10, 2026).

Classes will be held at the Winnsboro Midlands Tech Campus located at 1674 US Highway 321 Bus N in Winnsboro.

Participants must be 18 years of age, or older, and citizens of Fairfield County with no, or a limited, criminal history.

This class is designed to acquaint citizens of Fairfield County with the personnel, services, investigative techniques and “day to day” operations of the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office. Topics to be covered include Narcotics Investigations, Criminal Investigations, K9 Operations, SRO (School Resource Officers) functions, Local Gang Awareness, COP (Community Oriented Policing) programs, Special Operations and a general overview of the structure of the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.
