The Fairfield Community Food Bank's Weekend Food Backpack Program helps housed and unhoused students experiencing food insecurity. Currently, there are 88 students identified as experiencing homelessness in the school district.
McCrorey-Liston School of Technology has no weekend food backpack support and has 10 students in need.
Here is the funding needed for these students:
10 students x $14/pack = $140/week = $560/month = $2,800 total
Fairfield County Democratic Party formed a coalition of Blair churches, the CTW Community Council and concerned individuals to fund backpacks for the kids at McCrorey-Liston from now through the end of the school year.
Donations are accepted through the end of March 2026.
